About Us

The Santa Maria Noontimers were chartered more than 50 years ago, and we continue to provide services to many members of the community!

We support a special recreational fund for blind and visually impaired students in Santa Barbara County. Through a wide variety of outings, including snow skiing, kayaking, white-water rafting and bicycling, these children learn that blindness does not limit participation in recreation. In addition, they develop life skills that allow them to lead productive lives after graduation.

In addition, the Noontimers Lions Club is a member of the Lions Sight Conservation Foundation of Santa Maria and proudly supports the foundation with funds and time. Through the foundation, eye exams and glasses are provided for individuals who cannot afford them. The foundation also provides travel expenses to specialists and assistance in paying for some surgical procedures. In addition, volunteers are provided through the foundation to assist schools with their vision screening of students. Each year, more than 6000 students from kindergarten through high school are screened in the Santa Maria Valley.

Santa Maria Noontimers Lions also continue to donate to the Santa Maria center of the Braille Institute of America. These funds are used to provide learning for local visually impaired residents who are unable to make the trip to Santa Barbara.

We provide services to the Good Samaritan Homeless Shelter, the Salvation Army, and other nonprofits in the community.
